Who we buy fleet vehicles from
Cash4Cars buys vehicles from businesses across the Auckland region: companies coming to the end of a lease, rental operators defleeting at the end of a season, businesses that are downsizing, fleets replacing vehicles on an upgrade cycle, and dealers with surplus stock.
We buy the same kind of vehicles from businesses as we do from private sellers: cars, SUVs, utes and vans from 2010 onwards, in good, drivable condition, generally under 150,000 km and worth $8,000 or more. That includes double-cab utes, people movers, hybrids and EVs including Teslas. We don't buy crashed, written-off or non-running vehicles.
How fleet pricing works
- Send your vehicle list. A spreadsheet, PDF or photos all work. Plate, make, model, year, kilometres, location and any condition notes help us price quickly.
- Get a price per vehicle. We return an offer for each vehicle on the list rather than one lump sum, so you can approve some, all, or hold some back.
- Agree a collection schedule. We collect from your depot or sites across Auckland. Pickups can be staggered to match your replacement vehicles arriving, so your team stays on the road.
- Payment and paperwork. We pay out any lease or finance directly, pay the balance to your company account, lodge the changes of ownership with Waka Kotahi NZTA, and send a settlement statement for your accounts.
Lease returns and end-of-lease buyouts
At the end of an operating lease you usually hand the vehicle back, and you may be charged for extra kilometres or wear beyond the agreed limits. Some leases also give you the option to buy the vehicle at an agreed residual or buyout price. If a vehicle is worth more than that figure, buying it out and selling it to us can leave you better off than handing it back. Send us the vehicle details and the buyout figure from your lease company, and we'll show you how the numbers compare before you decide.
Rental and seasonal defleets
Rental operators often need to move a batch of similar vehicles at once, when the season ends or new stock lands. Because we price each vehicle on its own condition and kilometres, a tidy low-kilometre car isn't averaged down by a tired one. And because we collect in stages, you don't need to park the whole batch at once.
